Today we had a guest speaker named Samuel Menyongar. Today he talked about how Sierra Leone is poor and a lot of people get sick. First he talked about how there is no clean water and they have to drink from a river or creek. And many Africans can get sick from it and maybe even die. That's because the river and creek is polluted. But Africans wouldn't have any water, so they would drink from the river or creek. Then Samuel talked about how A well can help. First it gives less dirty water because no one would liter in it. And you don't have to put you hands inside of it and get your germs on it. You would just need a bucket. But what's bad about it is that well's are pretty expensive. Then he talked about how children get taught. The children have to go to school at 2:00 to 7:00. And the schools are kind of small. And he talked about how the children at school need more school supplies for a better education. And so when he finished talking we gave him a present. The present was created last year when we donated coins to this box. And those coins would be wasted to build a well. So when when the year ended we would wait for next year. And so here it is. The present. It was a check for about 1,700 dollars! And it was all with just coins! And soon that well would be build because of my school. We were all heroes to save many many children around Africa :)
